At least 14 shops at the Manning Market in Pettah were closed after a worker tested positive for Covid-19, Chief Organiser of Manning Market Traders Union Anil Indrajith said.
He said the worker, who is the husband of a worker at one of the apparel factories in Katunayake, had reportedly contracted the virus from his wife.
Accordingly, close contacts of the worker had been sent for self-quarantine and some of them had already been subjected to PCR tests.
Indrajith said operations at the Manning Market continuing.
