How do people reject the candidates if they can come again thru national list, it seems the only option people have is bullet and not ballot.

What is the meaning of this candidates defeated and rejected by the voters are re erected by the national list. Then why an election was held? If this act is justified where and what is the justification towards those whose names were listed before the election.from the other side defeated candidates must understand that they are rejected by the people no.

    Raj Friday, 21 August 2015 05:09 PM

Why did they give national list slot for a politician like S.B. Dissanayake who was rejected by the people together with his son?

Sampath Fernando Friday, 21 August 2015 05:09 PM

this is a shame decision. if they thought that they would loose, they could have been in the national list. like Mr. Dilan Perera did. every one who vote for UPLF, lost their faith. not only voters for UPLF but all voters should raise their voice for this decision in appointing defeaters. the constitution should amend to prevent this type of appointments. how part appoint MPs defeat at the people votes though national list. Pro. Wijesinghe and rest of list of other members should raise their voice.

    Mansoor Friday, 21 August 2015 05:10 PM

What ever the circumstances the losers should not be in the parliament. Thank god at least one party still follows the democracy principles. Hats off UNP

None of the rejected candidates should be appointed through the national list. It is a joke when voters rejected them as unsuitable to be in the parliament.
