if thats the case we might have to have a new president also... They should include in the constitution that Even President, Prime Minister and all politicians on reaching 60 should resign and make way for the next in line....
They make decisions, sometimes not practical and the repercussions are passed down generations.
Infuse new blood for the betterment of the country....

It is the WISDOM that matters.

Is this rule applicable for Politicians too??????
Razor Blade Wednesday, 12 January 2011 02:39 PM
If this is applicable to Parliament, we don't get to see more than 50 MP's in & the rest resting.

This should apply for ambassadors. Kohona is 64 years and playing fun in New York. There are many other Ambassadors over 60 years. Why this doesnot apply for them?
mudiyanse Wednesday, 12 January 2011 01:11 PM
I think the government must increase the retirement age to 60 from 57 straight away . if any body willing to retire after 57 should be allowed to do so voluntarily . what is happening now is ,those who are nearing 57 are having very nervous time when they apply for the extension every year . This condition is neither good for the officer nor the organization .
Some times even for a good officer extensions are denied for political reasons or for not helping corrupt practices of the management
manjula jayawardana Wednesday, 12 January 2011 12:46 PM

lankaputha Wednesday, 12 January 2011 10:12 AM
Is this Age discrimination.. I think the best way to do this is, by asking them to sit for physical fitness test, and a mental stability test before extending the service. If the horse can run and win the races, why bother about the teeth or the age.
Truth Exposed Wednesday, 12 January 2011 08:46 AM
MOST WELCOME IF IT IS APPLICABLE TO ALL MPs AND MINISTERS AS WELL.
Calistus Jayatilleke Wednesday, 12 January 2011 10:02 AM

Vernon Wednesday, 12 January 2011 09:52 AM
What is the use. They will extend the period of whom they want by a Cabinet Paper, which is normally practiced
rizvi Wednesday, 12 January 2011 09:48 AM
