The collection of garbage which was hampered during the past few days because of the heavy rains has now returned to normalcy, Chief City Administrator of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC), Omar Kamil told Daily Mirror online.
He added that this was conveyed to him at a meeting which was held with all the relevant Directors of the CMC today.
“Garbage collection around the world gets hampered due to the rains and the ‘turn back time’ for the garbage collection vehicles is also affected because of the traffic caused by flooding,” Kamil said.
However Kamil assured that everything had resumed back to normal with the vehicles being able to make frequent trips to the disposal sites. (Daily Mirror online)
