I beg your pardon, simple Sydney? This whole mess came about because action PRECEDED thought in the first place. There is still no reason why the idiots who moot these plans cannot go on a foreign junket anyway. All of this can only lead to further escalation of prices to the consumer because of more panic. Such is the "economic planning" of the geniuses who control our lives!

It is very good result..Srilanka got more more coconut plants in over all in country.If srilanka try to more production from coconut plantation,in future srilanka have to expert to the coconut.

The minister seem only interested in importing any food items, whether it will have adverse effect in our economy or not! It show their shallow knowledge in the economy and development of the country!!!

Oh what a circus, how irresponsible can the rulers be, if there is a procedure it has to be followed, these decisions show the lack of professionalism of those who are supposed manage.
When do we plan to get our act together. For those who endorse this decision, go out and talk to the people who cannot buy a loaf of bread and a coconut , just for breakfast for Rs 100 any more.

Before making plans to import, the decision makers should have found out whether it could and should be imported. A whole lot of administrators should have gone on a trip to Kerala and checked the coco-nuts!. There are coconuts in California, South America and in Papua New Guinea too.

why cant we use alternative such as maggi milk power, coconut cream etc...these are cheaper compared to fresh coconut!!! we use these in abroad and dont see any difference to fresh coconut milk!!!!!!

Importing Kerala Wilt coconut will be a tragic.It does affect your health too.Now they stopped using much because of this Wilt and now they wont to sell it to us.
