SLC current ExCo to continue as interim committee

Acting Sports Minister Faizer Mustapha today said he has decided to name the current Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Executive Committee as the interim committee of the SLC to continue the administrative activities of the board.

He said the decision was taken to set a good precedent because appointing a new interim committee by-passing a democratically appointed committee of office bearers would set a bad precedent. (TK)

Appointing an interim committee instead of holding elections, isn't that a bad precedence? What exactly is the need for an interim committee at this time?

Do we really need an acting or even a permanent MInister of sports when they don't have the faintest of idea of the sports in question. It's time the higher ups understand the real reason for our current dilemma in cricket in particular and do away with political interference of any sort in all sports events.
