The event has been organized for the 9th time by Haycarb Madampe Facility, where is it organized alternatively by taking turns with Haycarb Badalgama Facility each year. This worthy cause of helping save lives of the critically ill has been supported since 2002 by the company. Over the years it has been held, almost 1000 pints of blood has been donated to the Blood Bank of Chilaw General Hospital through this initiative.
Speaking at this occasion Rajitha Kariyawasan, Managing Director of Haycarb Group said “This is yet another noble CSR initiative to save lives organized by Haycarb Group every year in Sri Lanka. Haycarb Group established its operations more than four decades ago at Madampe, Sri Lanka to become a leading global player in coconut activated carbons.
“Our economic, social and environmental sustainability is well established during the long years of successful operations in Sri Lanka. Apart from these initiatives we have been very active on major CSR platforms in Sri Lanka through both ‘Haritha Angara’ (environmental friendly charcoaling to support local entrepreneurship) and “Purtias Sath Diyawara” (providing purified drinking water to CKD affected villages and supporting/empowering village schools/talent). We will continue to be at the forefront of CSR initiatives as a core value in our business conduct.”
