Female Clerk of Colombo DIG office dies in accident

A Chief Clerk of the Colombo DIG's office, was killed in a bus accident at Olcott Mawatha in Pettah this morning.

Police said the bus, which was travelling towards the Pettah bus terminal on the Olcott Mawata had knocked down the victim when she was trying to cross the road.

The 61-year-old, Pushpa Indrani Perera, a resident of Batuwatta, Ragama died after she was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.

Police said the bus driver was arrested and that he would be produced in the Hulfsdrop Magistrate’s Court.

Was the Officer Knocked while using the Zebra Crossing ?? The Traffic Police - Must Enforce the Zebra Crossing Rule at Fort and Pettha and other places and any one violates should be Called for Classes at the Police Station

Educate the people how to cross the zebra crossing Olcot mawata ,if you see Olcot Mawata peoples are crossing both color lights ie RED AND GREEN and also using the mobile phone .Pls ask the on duty police offices to give fine for them those who are crossing RED light and using mobile phone.

Most of the bus drivers has a brain capacity of a cockroach and zero knowledge of traffic regulations. Wonder of wonderland is our system allows these thugs and ruthless parasites to obtain the buss operator licenses and employ a roach to drive a coach.
