Bribery complaints against ministers, MPs spoke to Aloysius

2017-11-17 14:26:42

The joint opposition (JO) today lodged complaints against the five Ministers and MPs, who were found contacting Perpetual Treasuries Limited (PTL) owner Arjun Aloysius during the COPE hearings.

Speaking to journalists outside the Bribery Commission (BC) office, JO MP Shehan Semasinghe said the complaints were lodged against Ministers Dayasiri Jayasekara, Ajith P. Perera, Sujeewa Senasinghe and MPs Harshana Rajakaruna and Hector Appuhamy.

“We requested the BC to prepare a report after checking the assets of these ministers and MPs and their relatives. Minister Jayasekara has said he is innocent and he can prove this to the BC,” Mr. Semasinghe said. (Lahiru Pothmulla)

It now remains to be seen who is the bigger crook. MR or Aloysius. Both have helped themselves to Billions and behind them are Ministers, MPs and Henchmen. Will there be a bargain struck between the two Political factions, UPFA and UNP, and both Rouges and Supporters to go free !

As usual all politicians are fooling voters. The revelations were made by police from the data recovered from two Arjuna's phones. Get police to investigate thoroughly and presented to presidential commission within short period of time. If warranted charge sheet persons without any reservations.

I am sure Arjun has spoken to Namal Rajapakse as well and few other JO members. Any one can talk to anyone, only proof they have to provide is that the requests by Arjun was accepted and worked on.

It is nothing but correct to check the telephone calls of all 225 MPs.I'm sure he would have connections with many more including those in the JO.

there is no excuse for MP's to receive calls or make calls to an accused of such a high profile case. To my amazement, if they are innocent, they should have declared these calls before being found out...!all smells fishy... but is it enough to prove beyond reasonable doubt...

Yes Mr. jayasekera in a democracy you are innocent until proven guilty. in that democracy 99.9 % are honest law abbiding citizens. but in Lanka 99.9 of the people are dishonest, so Mr.Jayasekera it is up to you to prove your honesty to the people, and outside world.
