The 16 former SLFP ministers, state and deputy ministers who quit the yahapalana government, today requested in writing to arrange seating in the opposition benches, Parliament Secretary General W.B.D. Dassanayake said.
He said a letter signed by the 16 SLFPers said that they had resigned from their posts and therefore to make seating available for them in the opposition benches.
He said steps would be taken to make the seating arrangement accordingly when the next Parliament session starts after informing Speaker Karu Jayasuriya . (Ajith Siriwardana)

No They were not. They were compete against UNP under SLPF. As MY3 has hijacked the SLPF he was able to nominate people who were actually defeted by national list of SLPF. 90% voters who vote for these buggers are now voting for pohottuwa.

If I am not mistaken there are three guys among this lot who were clearly defeated in the last parliamentary elections but were appointed as MPs by the President to serve in the unity government. Shouldn't the President now ask them to resign from the parliament if they don't want to be a part of the government anymore?
