At least 30 police officers including the Kollupitiya Police OIC, who were on duties near the US embassy in Colombo to disperse the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) protesters, have been sent for quarantine, the Police said.

They said the officers were sent for Aththidiya Quarantine Centre.

Police dispersed several activists of the FSP when they attempted to stage a protest outside the US Embassy in Kollupitiya against the killing of African-American George Floyd.

At least 53 FSP members were arrested for violating a court order issued against the demonstration. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya
