However, the curtain raiser match of this 16-nation tournament will be between New Zealand and Malawi.
Sri Lanka, the reigning Asian champions have been drawn in Group ‘A’ and their remaining two fixtures will be against the Northern Ireland on Saturday and Australia on Sunday.
In the previous edition held in 2015, Sri Lanka finished last after they lost all eight matches in the tournament.
Sri Lanka’s best performance in a World Netball Championship was when they finished ninth out of 11 countries way back in 1963.
