Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) and the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) agreed yesterday that the President’s Trophy Knock-Out Rugby Tournament final would be played on Saturday after crunch talks between the two organisations last evening.
SLR Deputy Secretary Rizly Illyas told Daily Mirror that the discussions were very successful and that arrangements will be made by the SLSRFA to provide the best possible security this weekend after the second semi-final between St. Peter’s College and Isipathana College ended with a brawl last Saturday.
“The discussions were very useful and the SLSRFA agreed on improving the security while they will be tough on any troublemakers during the game.”
There is enough technology available out there to recognise any misconduct and people causing problems will be dealt with,” Illyas revealed.
