The Education Ministry is to recruit 8,000 teacher trainees for the year 2018 batch, following a delay in recruitment for batches to the National Colleges of Education (NCE) in the years from 2012-2013 and 2016-17.
The Ministry had decided to recruit two batches of trainees simultaneously countrywide to 19 NCEs based on the Advanced Level (A/L) results in 2016 and 2017, the ministry said.
“Four thousand teacher trainees had been selected for 27 subjects for 2016 and another 4,000 trainees for the year 2017 and letters for interviews will be sent within the first week of June and interviews will begin at the NIE from the third week of June this year,” the ministry said.
