Drug pushers apprehended in Nuwara Eliya

An organised group of racketeers selling heroin and ganja to school children was arrested by Nuwara Eliya Excise.   

OIC Nuwara Eliya Excise station T.M.G.Tilakaratne said he carried out the raid on information on the ongoing racket in Hanguranketha, Ragala and Walapane areas. He said school children were the target group of the racket. 

The Excise official said the six suspects had in their possession a stock of heroin and ganja at the time of arrest.   
A team of Excise officials carried out the raid on the instructions of Superintendent of Excise Rohan Wijeratne.
