Constitutional Council to meet today

The Constitutional Council will meet today at 6.00 pm at the Speaker’s residence under the chairmanship of former speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

Parliament Secretary General Dhammika Dasanayake said Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and other members of the Constitutional Council are expected to attend the meeting.

The nominations submitted by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for the two vacancies of the Central Bank Monetary Board will be taken into discussion at this meeting.
