AMPARA Eight family members of the coronavirus patient from the Akkaraipattu Grama Niladhari area, along with the driver of the van that transported the patient from Colombo, have been referred to the Damminna quarantine centre in Polonnaruwa last Thursday. Some 320 people in the area had been placed under self-quarantine since Wednesday. The Akkaraipattu town is on lockdown and access roads to the area closed. Ampara Division SP Jayantha Ratnayake said the Akkaraipattu- Ampara, Akkaraipattu-Kalmunai and Akkaraipattu-Pottuvil roads were open only for those providing essential services.
