H. C. Hong, President and CEO of Samsung India Electronics Ltd and Youngmin Shin - Managing Director, Samsung Sri Lanka
H.C. Hong, President and CEO of Samsung India Electronics Ltd. recently visited Sri Lanka to familiarize himself with Samsung’s local operations across the island.
Part of Hong’s responsibilities include overseeing business growth in South West Asia and the markets that fall under his purview include Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Nepal.
The Samsung head office team conducted an official welcoming ceremony for H.C. Hong, who thereafter went on to meet the company’s management and sales teams, to discuss the way forward for Samsung Sri Lanka in the second half of the financial year.
During his visit H.C. Hong also completed the first VoLTE call (Voice over LTE)using Samsung devices, in collaboration with mobile service provider Dialog. Hong also met with Samsung’s extensive network of partners in Sri Lanka and hosted them to an evening of fellowship at Galle Face Hotel, where tokens of appreciation were presented to key partners.
During his meetings in Sri Lanka, H.C. Hong reiterated the important contribution that Samsung Sri Lanka makes to the company’s regional growth and market share. H.C. Hong has over 25 years of experience in driving growth in emerging business environments and previously served as President of Samsung Electronics in Latin America. He has been with the company since 1987 and is currently focusing on building Samsung’s success in South West Asia, one of the company’s high potential regions for R&D, manufacturing and sales.
