Does it matter who initiated it? What is important is that it is there now. All you people are so narrow minded and political. Think of the country and not the politicians.

This project is not a project done in 100 days. Even a god cannot do. Initiated in 2000. It took 15 years.

    Hamlet Saturday, 18 April 2015 04:49 AM

True Sri Lanka, this was delayed because it was not in Hambantota, and was started in 2000 by the then Government.

you can not be Sri Lankan or u just landed to SL from other planet

    Sinhacub Sunday, 19 April 2015 04:55 AM

Some of you guys writing comments here, and politicians of all stripes, are so party oriented, that there is no such thing as bipartisan policy or criticism. Every Lankan should work for the betterment of the Nation, and be proud of projects that are due praise, no matter which party was responsible for initiating it.

    sss Sunday, 19 April 2015 07:27 AM

No 1 reason though is 80 year old higher education system that has done nothing for the economy

    Ryan Friday, 17 April 2015 07:52 PM

Yahapalana people will need to work hard to chase MR from Rambukkana

    Lakminiha Friday, 17 April 2015 07:55 PM

I wonder what took them so long to open it. Is that some of the animals got diverted to the residences of Ex. Ministers (on their way to Pinnawala) during the past 15 years. MR was not even the PM of Sri Lanka in 2000 to initiate such projects.

    truefacts4U Monday, 20 April 2015 09:48 PM

Great work of new government rush to open up the open air zoo. Now we have enough free cages to put the politicians in.

    SmartCitizen Friday, 17 April 2015 10:46 PM

How many such projects were opened by MR govt as well as previous govt, whereas the actual initiation was from a different govt. If I am not mistaken, the Nelum Pokuna Theater was started by the govt of 2001 to 2004. But people dont know about these
