Ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thera, the Podi Hamuduruwo of Gangaramaya Temple is seen blessing a pregnant mother after donating lunch packets outside the temple today. The Temple distributed 10,000 lunch packets free of charge to mark the launch of its programme of providing lunch packets at a subsidiary price. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also attended the event. Pix by Pradeep Pathirana
It would have been Buddhist to see beneficiaries of this act to be the poorest of the poor, street children, beggars, homeless old people who sleep on the street etc... What we see on these pictures are persons who can afford and even shameless policemen.

I am surprised to note that there are still people in Sri Lanka who insult police officers who bought those lunch packets. There is nothing wrong in it as long as they made the payment as no restrictions were made to the government servants. Who ever insulted them looking at this picture should understand that government servants struggle and undergo difficulties to maintain their families. Anyone insulting those police officers for nothing should be only ashamed of them selves
