Gale hits many areas

A gale that hit several areas including Haputale, Diyathalawa and Bandarawela caused extensive damage to 40 line houses in Rohaminton Estate in Haputale and 16 line houses in Nayabedda estate in Bandarawela. More than 200 displaced persons are staying with their relatives.  The police requested the drivers to be cautious about possible obstructions to roads caused by fallen trees or mounds of earth. Badulla District Disaster Management Centre has taken step to close the road Dunhinda falls which is endangered with rock falling.  Pix by Palitha Ariyawansa

    There are some stupids who laughed at USA but take a look at the sad state our displaced people are in and how the displaced in USA are trated by the government. I recall Weerawansa saying in a public rally that Americans are beggars. This wise man does not realsie that it we who borrow from the IMF not USA.

    of course we Rejoice when US was hit, for Sri Lanka this not a curse its natural we always get Rain in this way. But US its a disaster and wasn't bad enough they have committed so much of sins.
    if they can cause destruction to other nations nature will take its call for USA

    Very sad to hear, so very sad to see. Some people will think this is the end of the world. But accordingly to the history, always happened like these incidents time to time with the rainy seasons.
