Good work Viraj, Straight on the point. Everybody blames SWRD as the one who started this ethnic crisis by declaring Sinhala Only policy @ 1956 - but the same promise was on the UNP list also on the same year. Nobody talks about this - or may never heard of it even.

Whatever said and done. He did destroy Sri Lanka with his socialistic policies. If not for him we would have been like Singapore today. The true Brain Drain & marginalization began with him; with his short sighted, selfish policies which eventually killed him. If not for him, at the rate we were progressing since independence we would have been the wonder of Asia today and we would never had a 30 year racist war. No one wants to admit it for fear of upsetting people.

A good man with bad policies for the country . Leftist goons
,the hypocrites, ruined him. They pushed him too hard. Down turn of the country began during his time.
Oxford and Cambridge Universities were full of Russian spies when he was at oxford.
    He was a brilliant orator.
After his stomach surgery,he told the surgeon,SO DOCTOR YOU HAVE SEEN THE GUTS OF A POLITICIAN !!! I salute him.

    Viraj Sunday, 26 September 2010 10:34 AM

    Sir,

Please don't lie. You seems to be dreaming alot. When Mr. Bandaranayake was in Oxford (1918-1925), Russian Bolsheviks yet to consolidate their power in Russia itself. Besides Mr. Bandaranayake was a nationalist not a socialist. If you have any idea why the Katunayake Airport is named after him, you will understand.

In politics there are no friends nor enemies. They tear each other apart inside Parliament but kiss and hug outside it and the gullible voter slurps it all. What a world!!!
