Cargills Bank, Sri Lanka’s newest commercial bank, commences month-long anniversary celebrations with charity programmes and banking services to encourage a new savings culture.

The bank extends a helping hand to build vibrant and stable communities through new and innovative financial products and services that provide long and short-term solutions for their monetary needs.

“Throughout our anniversary month, we will be reflecting upon our commitment and we’ll focus our attention on how we can support our customers and the community to thrive in an increasingly competitive environment,” Cargills Bank DGM Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Rumaiz Rahim said.

The anniversary was kicked off with charity work on June 20, at ‘Sucharitha Home’ in Maharagama (a home with an orphanage, school and a place for the mentally challenged). Renovation of the building was carried out under this initiative while providing essential items for all residents there. The aim of these activities was to make a difference in their lives and show them that they are not forgotten by society.

For the school which has been built for the residents on the premises itself, essential items were provided for children both boys and girls of different ages below 18 years who are studying in the school. There are 25 girls and 25 boys in addition to 45 mentally-challenged individuals.

The bank staff shared their time at the home, reflecting their care and commitment towards the larger community displaying social responsibility in helping those in need.

The bank offers responsible and sustainable products  including  savings accounts, current accounts, children’s savings account, senior citizens accounts as well as foreign currency accounts, etc.,  that meet customers’ needs, providing innovative solutions aiming to build long-term relationships cutting across age, class and gender.

It has introduced an offer on local and foreign currency fixed deposits and savings accounts to all its customers in connection with the anniversary celebrations. The promotion extends till July 20.

On fixed deposits ranging from Rs.10,000 to Rs.10 million the bank would offer an interest rate of 7.50 percent p.a for a period of one year (varied tenures and rates available). For every savings account opened with a Rs.10,000 deposit (held for six months) the customer would receive an attractive branded travel bag, which is also applicable for fixed deposits as well.

The offer is valid for foreign currency deposits as well with a minimum of US $ 250.

“We believe that prudent financial management has the power to change lives, transform societies and deliver shared value for all of our stakeholders.

The bank advocates responsible banking practices, supports individuals and organisations in achieving their financial goals, with our prudently managed risk outlook and customer centric philosophy which is in line with the bank’s tag line ‘Banking on the Human Spirit’ and our belief in the resolve of the human spirit of people as they endeavour to strive for success,” he added.
