ACL to hold 10th Corporate Law conference next week

For the 10th consecutive year, the Association of Corporate Lawyers Sri Lanka (ACL) has organised its annual Corporate Law Conference which will be held on 23rd September 2015 from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel.

The theme of this year’s conference will be “Unfolding New Dimensions in the Corporate World”. The Chief Guest of the conference will be Chandra Ekanayake, Acting Chief Justice and the guest of honour will be Attorney General Yuwanjana Wijetilleke, President’s Counsel.

The Conference topics will be on Insurance Law, Banking and Finance Law and HR & Labour Law. The Speakers on Banking & Finance are Romesh De Silva President’s Counsel, Palitha Kumarasinghe Presidents Counsel. The session moderator will be Harsha Fernando, Attorney at Law and Susantha Balapatabendy, Deputy Solicitor General will be in the panel.

The speakers on Insurance Law are Uditha Egalahewa, President’s Counsel, Devaan Cooray, Director, Ceylinco Life PLC. The session moderator will be A M D Nawaz, Judge of the Court of Appeal. Nimmi Gunaratne, Chief Legal Officer, Aitken Spence PLC will be in the panel.

The speakers on HR & Labour Law are Kanishka Weerasinghe, Director General of Employers Federation of Ceylon (EFC) while the session moderator is R K S Sureshchandra, Retired Judge of the Supreme Court and Resident Justice of Appeal, Fiji. Arjuna Weerasinghe, Attorney at Law will be in the panel.
