Lanka IOC PLC has made extra-ordinary efforts for ensuring round the clock supply of petrol and diesel in the country during the strike called by Ceypetco.
Due to the strike call by Ceypetco, there could not be any supply of petroleum products from the depots of CPSTL throughout the country on July 25th. This resulted in long queues at Lanka IOC petrol sheds which witnessed unprecedented demand for petrol and diesel. Lanka IOC operates just one depot in the country and other 12 depots are operated by CPSTL. Its depot is being situated in Trincomalee, and it takes considerable time to reach supplies to different parts of the country.
“Yet employees of Lanka IOC PLC worked day and night to ensure that supplies of petrol and diesel remain normal in the country. This required tremendous efforts on the part of team Lanka IOC PLC to ensure that product reaches in all parts of the country. Special efforts were made to give priority to ambulances, SLTB buses, vehicles involved in public transport and tri-wheelers so as to make general public comfortable. Our supplies have increased to almost double from our Trincomalee depot on 25th July and similar efforts continue.”
