Chief Prelates of the Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters have advised Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake to work in harmony with all stakeholders to resolve the crisis facing universities.

They expressed these views when the minister visited Kandy to meet the Mahanayake Theras.

This meeting came in the wake of the visit by representatives of FUTA a few days ago.

Tell me Apsara, who listened to Chief Prelates, they wanted SF released, did the govt listen? ; then they told UNP to make Karu the leader did they listen? Why should SB ?- The reason is the Chief Prelates are doing nothing to safe gaurd the Sasana from its own .....- there are robber gang leaders, rapists, business tycoons, etc.,- What have they done? no body will take them seriously

SB Will listen to the Venerable Monks. He is a true Buddhist. He will grant salary hike to the striking dons. The Problem solved. Instead 6% grant 4.5 % for the Education..

    RamUK Wednesday, 03 October 2012 10:34 AM

Please be rational and logical about decisions rather the religious it is nothing to do with "True Buddhist" we as a country already sinking ...

    RamUK Wednesday, 03 October 2012 10:36 AM

Why religious leaders .....that is stupidity politicians should listen to the ppl who voted them not others

Calistus Jayatilleke Wednesday, 03 October 2012 12:35 PM

The bane of our country is we always mix religion with politics. The ideal situation would be if each is left to its own to carry out tasks assigned to them.
