A Veddah leader says he has decided to go to court in order to secure the ownership of some land which he insists belongs to his community.

The Rathugala Veddah community leader says a resident of Kandy has sought ownership to nearly 19 acres of land in Rathugala and has filed documents at the Monaragala Magistrates Court over the matter.

However the Rathugala Veddah community leader says he will challenge the move in court as the remains of his father and past Veddah community leaders have been buried in that land. (Daily Mirror online)

let them leave alone............i can remember few years back a veddah was charged on the basis that he was fishing inside a restricted forest....hunting , fishing , living with the natures are the basis of veddas.....so please dont disturb the harmony...
