Nawfal Wednesday, 06 March 2013 05:05 AM
He is another Marven Attapttu with technique also overlooked by selectors.

at 36 past his prime, better to a youngster a chance. Wonder why SLC is not accepting his retirement.
Be fair...... Tuesday, 05 March 2013 10:36 AM
well well, I always thought you carried a straight bat, with whats going on now at SLC, it is confirmed. Well played Thilan, thank you for the Cricket. It has been a pleasure and a privillege to have had the opportunity to watch you play.

Wise move, without depricving himself of any oversees assignments. He is down to play in English County cricket this season. Thanks Thilan, you will be remembered as savior, who has salvaged our side many, many times!
Kondebendapucheena Tuesday, 05 March 2013 10:23 AM
when I saw ma linga's reaction towards Press I guess Sanath should drop all and form a new fresh team those who are for country before self
Sareek Tuesday, 05 March 2013 10:22 AM
Replace weerawansa.
harshan Tuesday, 05 March 2013 10:20 AM
I agree with his decision. But this is not the way for his retire. see how Micheal Hussy retire with a great glory from crowd and players. Thilan is a legend in the Sri Lankan Cricket history played more Test matches than Hussy. Therefore, should have give him a chance to play his last match. Sanath might forgot how he is retire even when he cant see the ball. This should be a mistake of our selectors.
Rana Tuesday, 05 March 2013 10:17 AM
he was a great batsman for SL in test. I could recall some great innings playd by thilan. have saved many games for SL singl handed. All the best

You have contributed lot to SL crickets. Wish you all the best in your future endeavor!!!!!!!!!
Dinithi Tuesday, 05 March 2013 10:00 AM
He just had one bad series in Australia. Not many sri lankan cricketers retired this honourably. He filled the vacuum of Hashan Tilakaratne. Now waiting to see who will play his anchor role in test cricket.
kumar Tuesday, 05 March 2013 09:54 AM
Good for the future of the Sri Lankan Cricket.
