sanjaya Friday, 05 October 2012 03:20 AM
then why did Sri Lankan Muslims protested last few weeks against USA film. think twice before commenting
buffaloa citizen Friday, 05 October 2012 03:29 AM
Saffron terrorism does takes place in this country, specifically from the very top. Buddhism is greatest practice for an exemplary life style, however so called patriotic buddhists and monks using this as an instrument for racism and religeos should be kicked out for bringing sacrilege on the great teachings of Lord Buddha.
sanju de silva Friday, 05 October 2012 06:51 AM
This anger and intolerance is the very antithesis of Buddhism. But I guess Sri Lankan Buddhism (a "born again" Buddhism, maybe) is now established as essentially violent. We can only hope and pray for the blessings of the Triple Gem.

Most clergymen wear robes to gain benefits & not to practice what they preach
Rania Friday, 05 October 2012 07:54 AM
The government and the buddhists priests must take care of a few extremists buddhists who are all out to create trouble. We do not want this after all the suffering in the war of 30 years that has finally ended.
shukri mim Thursday, 04 October 2012 05:07 PM
This happaning because of the bad ethinic mentality of majority people living in sri lanka it will lead sri lanka to meet nother war
Sid Friday, 05 October 2012 09:07 AM

Thomas Friday, 05 October 2012 11:13 AM
Mr.Sri Lankan, I agree with you fully. I hope the Clergy will practice what they preach and refrain from violence. There is no harm in protesting, FOLLOW GHANDHI'S NON VIOLENT SATYAGRHA
Rick Friday, 05 October 2012 11:17 AM
Its amazing how other religions luv telling Buddhists to act with patience and calmness but when their own cultures and religions are attacked even in literature e.g. Salmon Rusdie. Their are orders them to be executed etc etc. Its pathetic!
lal Friday, 05 October 2012 12:57 PM
No need to invite or remind India to get involved. They do that anyway. Somebody has to remind India to mind their own business and build toilets for their people who excrete on pavements, parks or anywhere they like.

These were happening in Bangladesh for some time as I remember..
Monster Thursday, 04 October 2012 11:15 AM
Why didn't you march to Myanmar embassy when Buddhists did massacre against Muslims in Myanmar. Thousands of Muslims lost their lives and properties during the massacre.
Managala Thursday, 04 October 2012 11:32 AM
It might be the same reason led Muslims do this in Bangladesh.religions should be respected and cruelty at one end cannot justify one in another......
Junior Citizen Thursday, 04 October 2012 11:40 AM

This must be in response to Rauf Hakeem's comment on "saffron terrorism", to show him what some muslim's themselves are upto elsewhere. Whatever, this tit for tat escalation should be stopped forthwith.
Kabir Thursday, 04 October 2012 01:14 PM

tarek mahmud Thursday, 04 October 2012 03:25 PM
every action has reaction. this reaction is good but it should not create another violence. we are Bangladeshi and we also hate and protest this violence.

Calmness: the Buddha’s advice
* Recognition of anger is the first step. Mindfulness is the teaching of Buddha that helps manage anger by being aware that it exists and needs patience to face the problem.
* Practice patience. To lay the ground, we must first tame the mind. To tame the mind, it is extremely important to do the basic samata [tranquility meditation] practice, which develops calmness.
* Develop compassion. If you have a warm heart that feels the need to help others, serve, respect and share, you can experience a feeling that makes you happy. You will realize that to live with compassion and love will make your life more meaningful each day.
* Stay away from provocative situations that trigger anger. A situation that made you angry should not be pursued but try to divert your attention to other things that can pacify anger
