After a series of killings of women in Kahawatte, it has been decided to set up an STF camp in the area in an attempt to curb the wave of killings that has gripped the area, informed sources said yesterday.

The camp will be set up in Opathawatte, Kahawatte.  It will be headed by a Chief Inspector. The camp will also have an intelligence unit and a motorcycle unit.

What is needed is not many camps but some power to overpower hidden forces.

Why did Police take such time to take this decision..?? Anyway I hope this chain of murders will stop hereafter and the criminals will take to the court...

i believe this is actually a master plan to set up STF camp there. the local police has done good job but they have been punished by transferring them. they are covering up the actual scene here. wait and see the real outcomes.

Not to offense. I don't see how setting up an STF camp could help stopping criminals. Hope the police department has a good plan in hand. ( I know nothing about crime investigation after all. )

Setting up a Camp alone is not enough, they have to do patrolling in the area specially at night time

    Matalan Monday, 05 November 2012 05:41 AM

Every possibility that STF camps will be a norm throughout the country soon, the way crimes are increasing like in Galle.

    ANTON Monday, 05 November 2012 06:12 AM

NOT ENOUGH , CALL SCOTLAND YARD OR FBI.

    Managala Monday, 05 November 2012 06:17 AM

Too late for the decision this step should have been taken at the first incident. May be now what criminals needed was accomplished as it is the common practice to setup everything when it is least needed...
