Several constituent party members elected to the Northern Provincial Council from Tamil National Alliance (TNA), today boycotted the swearing in ceremony held to appoint TNA Ministers and PC members at Weerasingham Hall in Jaffna.

Members of Eelam People's Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF) except its minister, People's Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE) and K. Shivajilingam of Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO) boycotted the ceremony. (Priyantha Hewage)

These people want power and they don't work for the Tamils. It is sad. Let them ruin the future of Tamils.

A SLAP IN THE FACE OF VOTERS

    Sakia, your comments ?

    siva Friday, 11 October 2013 12:50 PM

that is why LTTE killed other militants to be sole representative of Tamil people.New set if believe ministerial post are more important get join MR he has ample stock of minister posts in stocks

    Patriot Friday, 11 October 2013 03:50 PM

All at the right time my dear friend.

    akalankadayananda Friday, 11 October 2013 04:23 PM

Not to worry. Diaspora & India will sort this out as the TNA is a puppet of Diaspora & India.
My worry is innocent tamils who for vote for TNA due to the threat of Diaspora. Now those parties will spread the hatred that wiil benefit them in the next election.

There were many positive things that took place at the ceremony. It is unfortunate that you chose the negative incident to report the event. Please change for the good of the country.

    Saskia Friday, 11 October 2013 04:36 PM

This issue is minor and TNA can sure handle this. Some members are not happy with selection of minister posts but, those members will never work against people who have lost everything due to the final war 2009. Those suffering will unite us in any circumstances.

    bandara Friday, 11 October 2013 05:47 PM

all the Tamil political parties with "terrorist" history have boycotted, while some are with the govt.

Balan Thabmi Friday, 11 October 2013 06:06 PM

Today the most important matter is to change the mind set & attitudes of the so-called "leaders" realising the fact that most powerful thing is the ballot but not bullets. Still most of them think otherwise. Further Tamils are living not only in Jaffna but also in other places in the island. That is the reality. So, It is the time to bury "Hatred" , "Revengeful" & "Unrealistic" sins away to march forward as Sri Lankans.

As is predicted previously Vigneshwaran will be branded traitor by tamil nationalists worldwide. Sl government's and ours inability to rescue moderate tamil leaders left us with LTTE worshipping bunch of assholes. Vigneshwaran should be protected at all costs. It won't be long before those scumbags assassinate him. first blame traitor, then finish him. That worked for LTTE with the foolsih tamils many times.

Gun toting youngmen have to be given some time to doff their overalls and don their nationals. They are on their way . Let them do it before they are laughed at by all and sundry.

    Sen Saturday, 12 October 2013 02:41 AM

Mr. Wigneswaran who is a moderate leader, should have the support of all the peace loving people of Sri Lanka.
Mr. President: Give Mr. Wigneswaran all the protection he needs. He is the man of the hour.
If Northern Provincial council fails by some chance Sri Lanka will become another Somalia.

    Grace Saturday, 12 October 2013 02:54 AM

Northern politicians are not second to southern politicians when it comes to power hunger.

    David Saturday, 12 October 2013 05:53 AM

    Whatever the outcome is;
The GOSL must be watchful of the hidden agendas and crack down immediately in its manifestations!
GOSL must recognize those who are sincerely willing to develop the north and not let divide the country.
All communities must be respected and live rightfully under one Flag,
    God Bless Mother Lanka!
    David.

Didn't you applaud and celebrate when ITAK won?

    bandara Saturday, 12 October 2013 08:23 AM

none of the Sinhala south complained when LTTE's Pillayn was elected the CM for the east, or when the man who killed 600 policemen was made a Minister and Vice President of the SLFP, (even the SLFPers kept quiet)but seem to be complaining when a democratically elected moderate, highly educated Mr.Vigneshwaran has been elected CM by their own people. shows the hypocrisy of the so called 'patriots" in the south

    Regi Saturday, 12 October 2013 10:26 AM

Shame on you for boycotting the ceremony. It seems like the cat is out of the bag - sorry, I mean the tiger is out of the bag. You have shown your spots

    UNITY IS IMPORTANT ..

Calistus Jayatilleke Friday, 11 October 2013 08:06 AM

"Pudana kotama kaapi yaka" If this only the beginning, one could easily surmise how this so called "alliance" would end up!

    sobers Friday, 11 October 2013 08:14 AM

Should not act like radicals. Be moderate like Chief Minister. Government will compensate for the widows, missing persons, other human right issues etc... Political parties should be positive and give a chance to MR, to see if he is genuine. If not all will be losers.

    wirenn Friday, 11 October 2013 06:14 AM

Pity they have started off on a wrong footing. I only hope they don't make the SL govt a scapegoat when things go wrong.

    Sabe Friday, 11 October 2013 09:29 AM

Friends, seems we have a CM who understands the reality and thinks out of the (Jaffna) box. I sincerely feel what north wants now is a proper development. Development of mindset, views, thinking process, education, future, outlook on life, values, culture, livelihood, self development, family development, rural development, industrial development. These can positively contribute to each and every individual there. I don't think having police powers is important to the PC and why you want to restrict your land power only to north when you have land power all over the country. Please come out of politics and allow your brothers and sisters too have some life like what you are having in Colombo and western countries.

    kumar Friday, 11 October 2013 11:38 AM

There is nothing happened for you to applaud and celebrate. This is a minor thing and will vanish silently. I think you better clean your backyard first.

    saman Friday, 11 October 2013 11:41 AM

    Dog eats dog!

    shanthapriya Friday, 11 October 2013 12:02 PM

all these problem because of diaspora. Let TNA and other tamil parties work independently with GOSL for the benefit of tamil people. NE people want work together with sinhalese and live peacefully. but diaspora aiming for something else
