A Sri Lankan woman was killed Friday when she was struck by a car as she crossed the coastal highway north of Beirut, security sources told The Daily Star.

The accident took place at 9:30 a.m. on the road between Dora and Dbayyeh, when the woman, who was not identified, tried to cross the road in “sudden fashion,” the sources said.

The sources said the driver was unable to avoid the woman as she crossed, and her body was taken to the morgue at Baabda Public Hospital.

The comments by SWRD, Rajeev and the Undertaker are typical Sri Lankan thinking. without looking at the facts just pass the blame to the other party. what if she crossed the road without giving the driver a chance? also note she was crossing a HIGHWAY where speed limits are around 100KMPH. either way it was a life lost. May she rest in Peace

it is 100% womens fault per barbaric arab law, never going to charge the driver if he is from the uncivilized paert of world

Rajeev Patnaik Saturday, 25 June 2011 04:03 AM

I have visited ,many times to Gulf states for conferences and I have seen the women and foreigners are treated like sub humans .All laws are biased and against them.If that woman would have alive, they might be framing charges against her by telling she disturbed that driver.Although Islam teaches good things but Arabs manipulate for their own gains.Nearly 90% of them are perverts.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH SWRD- ANYWAY- MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE
