Former Army Commander General Sarath Fonseka had been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal with effect from March 22, 2015 by President Maithripala Sirisena, the President’s Media Division said. (LSP)

I have no doubt, the General deserves the promotion, but we should not forget the Commanders of the Navy and the Air Force who also did their bit to win the war. Perhaps they should also have gone into politics.

at Last justice is done and His contribution should be always appreciated. He is a really a gentleman who went through all trials to get back his place in Sri Lankan history. He made history by defeating LTTE. yet, MR tried to get advantage out of it. but truth will prevail. It was not MR who won war rather FS and his dedication and MR paid money to LTTE to win in 2005. that was MR and yet, FS is a real hero.
