Sanath awaits report into 'skit'

Former Sri Lankan Cricket captain and current Selection Committee head Sanath Jayasuriya said that he was looking forward to the report into the current inquiry regarding a skit at the Sri Lanka Cricket awards ceremony held recently.

“I’m awaiting a report into the entire episode” he told Daily Mirror Online.

Earlier the Daily Mirror reported that according to sources, elements within Sri Lanka Cricket itself had been instrumental in including the skit which had come under fire from certain officials who had been portrayed in it.

Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage earlier said that he was awaiting a report and has written to the Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket Nishantha Ranathunga asking for a full inquiry into the incident. (HF)
