Remanded for assaulting PSD

Five policemen attached to the Rangala Police were remanded till the 2nd of April for assaulting 11 officers of the Presidential Security Division. The assaulted officers included a Captain for the Army.

The Policeman had allegedly obstructed two jeeps in which the PSD officers were travelling at around 11.30PM on Thursday and created havoc on the road.

The Police officers had been on night patrol duty and were in civil attire. They were later found to be under the influence of alcohol. The Police are conducting further inquiries. (J.A.L . Jayasinghe)
