MPs Dullas Alahapperuma, Bandula Gunawardane, Gamini Lokuge, Jayantha Ketagoda and Sarath Weerasekara, WPC Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga, Provincial Councillor Udaya Gammanpila and 27 others have been ordered to appear before the Court by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court on May 8 on charges of Contempt of Court.

The MPs yesterday staged a protest outside the Commission for Investigating allegations of Corruption and Bribery despite a Court order preventing the protest. (Kurulu Koojana Kariyakarawana)

These are the same cowards who raped the freedom of the country by raising their hands for the 18th amendment without a whisper. They must be chased away at the next election.

Way to go - no one above the law. And for a useless cause at that. After all they could have been shot like the Rathupaswela protestors who did so for a worthwhile cause of life and death by poisoning. Gota was Sec Defence then with Army under him

This government is the most dictatorial government in our history. Shamelessly manipulating the judiciary and the law enforcement agencies to suppress descent, while ignoring the real issues of the people. waiting eagerly for the opportunity to vote this lot out of power.

The protest was to show displeasure for an ungrateful decision to call the man who enabled us to run court system again by eliminating terrorism, to a government office for political revenge.Long live court system!
