Presidential Spokesman denies Govt Info claims

Presidential Spokesman Mohan Samaranayake has rejected the Government Information Department claims that President Mahinda Rajapaksa rejected a call by the United States to send Sri Lankan troops to Afghanistan.

“The President has neither received nor rejected any requests by the US for Sri Lankan troops to be sent to Afghanistan,” Mr Samaranayake said.

    Presidential spokesman is one thing;Government Information Dept. is quite another. The troops are an entirely different thing. Sri Lanka is the common factor.
