One killed, two injured in explosion

A 26-year-old youth was killed and two others injured in an explosion at a fire-cracker factory at Kimbulapitiya in Negombo this evening, police said.

They said the explosion might have been set off by a fire that had broken out at the factory.

Two workers were admitted to the Negombo Hospital with burn injuries. Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
