Although people might have forgotton, this 'Heroic Intervention' is the root cause of this whole fiasco. When results were delayed in the first instance 'MR' intervened and 'ordered' the ministers to release results the very next day. And the ministers should did it.

That's the intervention which started the whole problem.

Your period you haven't build any university in Sri Lanka. At least you should built in Hambantota with Chinese help. May be it is 50% Chinese owned and Chinese student. It doesn't matter. 50% belong to Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan students. China can bult a university within 1 year. All Z score problem students can take into that university. Do some action! Reports do not work! Sri Lanka has experience many reports with zero action!

The only way MR can intervene is to admit all students who qualified to enter Uni. before the Z-score and after the, Z-score fiasco, to Unis. so that poor students will not feel disgruntled. otherwise it will be a sin for which this Govt will have to pay heavily.

It is not possible to admit students to Unis in an ad-hoc way as there is a problem with space. At Colombo Medical College the existing Anatomy building has been demolished by the government 4 years ago promising to put up a new building. Upto now no funds have been allocated only the bare land stands at Punchi Borella. Therefore the present medical students are undergoing severe hardship due to lack of space. How can they admit additional students? Jaffna university council has approved the setting up of the Engineering faculty in April 2011. So Jaffna Mathematics stream students will be at an advantage.

During MR's period let alone building new unis the buildings of existing unis have been demolished promising to give better facilities to undergraduates. If the existing unis are developed more students could be admitted in a year's time.

Z-score is calculated by taking the
1) Raw marks
2) Mean for each subject
3) Standard Deviation
Other than for a statistician these words will be like Greek to somebody else.

The Education Minister is a Tution mudalali, the Monitoring Minister is an International School mudali and the Higher Education Minister is a person convicted by court.
