Yes, Mr. President, now you have got what you requested. The public is waiting for a 'brighter future.' Hope it will not be only a promise. Please implement 1. law and order; 2. a respectable environment to live-in; and, 3. a proper team to execute your 'vision'!

    Friday, 09 April 2010 06:41 PM

Hon. Mahinda, now you have a strong government. Now there is no excuse. Better select a strong Cabinet by identifying the capabilities of each individual and NOT on the rank of the majority votes. Also, it should not exceed 30 ministers. Furthermore, people should be able to live without fear!

    Friday, 09 April 2010 06:43 PM

Let's all wait and watch his choices for the cabinet. He and this country are now free of one huge headache - the worst foreign minister we have had in our history, has lost his seat!

The low voter turnout reflects APATHY and not a 'clear mandate' for the government, to do as it pleases.

    Friday, 09 April 2010 07:14 PM

Forget about the 'seniors' in the national-list, who are unable to deliver.

    Friday, 09 April 2010 08:08 PM

Mr. President, please do not forget that the people of Sri Lanka have placed a lot of trust in you. So, do not disappoint them. Good luck!

    Friday, 09 April 2010 08:09 PM

It's time for the 'brothers, relations and friends.' SL will continue to 'go to the dogs' ...

    Friday, 09 April 2010 08:48 PM

Less than 50% turnout? This is the 'darkest day' in Sri Lanka. It's going to be a true 'banana republic.'

    Friday, 09 April 2010 09:11 PM

Your Excellency, please choose the best, for the sake of the future of our country!
