Lankans in Syria not affected

No reports have come to light regarding Sri Lankans being affects or getting injured due to clashes in Syria so far, Director General of Public Communication at the Foreign Ministry Sarath Dissanayake told Daily Mirror online

He added that a sizable Sri Lankan community was not present in Syria and that only a few Sri Lankans would be in Syria at present.

According to foreign media reports clashes have taken place in several cities in Syria including Damascus demanding the end to the country’s 48 year emergency law, more political freedom and end to countrywide corruption. (Daily Mirror online)

    48 years of emergency law. They can have a golden jubilee in 2 more years. Hope we as Sri Lank ans don't allow our country to take this path.
