IGP asked to submit list of corrupt SLFPers

Minister Maithreepala Sirisena today informed the Police Chief to submit a list of all SLFP organizers, members of Provincial and Local councils who have police complaints of corruption against them. The Minister said that as the General Secretary of the SLFP the Minister also requested the district organizers to submit a list of all members of position of the SLFP who have charges of corruption against them.

Minister Sirisena also said that upon receiving the lists the names would be submitted to the Central Committee of the party which will conduct an inquiry against them and will take appropriate disciplinary action.

This is totally against the basic ethics. Political parties CAN NOT make such requests from a PUBLIC OFFICIAL. On the other hand a PUBLIC OFFICER should not give such information a political party. This is gross abuse of power and violation of HR. No wonder world is asking external monitors!!!!!!!!

Also even if this on bona fieda then shed some light on what has had happent to the Dr.Kelaniya investigation based on predesiya saba members complains. Why there is no action been taken.

There was a complaint by Pradeshya Sabha Members against a Minister that he had allocated Market stalls having taken bribes. A committee was supposed to investigate this complaint. Was it done and if so what has happened to the report.

First receive the complains from the voters who brought them to politics and base on that you could proceed with police (If they are honest enough to do this duty)

The other point is what is the basis of measuring corruption level of politicians? These are all nice wards to cheat the masses. In fact cheating to the people itself is an offence. Isn't it?
