President Mahinda Rajapaksa, at a meeting with media heads a short while ago, said that he will contest future elections until the opposition could forward a strong candidate.

He also said that there was not much opposition to the 18th Amendment to the constitution when it was raised with the UNP during talks held earlier.

The President noted that there is no harm in bringing forward the 18th Amendment to the constitution at this stage as even the 17th Amendment was at one time presented as an urgent bill.

Brilliant Logic by the today's Aristotle:
Enervate and lock up all opposition.
    State opposition is weak.
    Declare yourself tyrannos.
