Dinithi Thursday, 10 February 2011 05:35 PM
This is just 70,000 dollars. Not lavish at all. On average his entourage has spend half a million rupees per visit. Thats is even better than late Kadiragamar.

Gamarala Thursday, 10 February 2011 01:39 PM
Most of these guys have a Gala Time with public funds. Thats why they die for this. Its only few ministers who really work for the country. This is a very pathetic situation. What have they done to improve the image of this country abroad. They almost lost even whatever Hon President secured from Iran. These guys are a real burden to our economy.
Upul Gunawardena Thursday, 10 February 2011 01:37 PM
The Minister should justify the expenses to the public on how he has made the image of SL better by spending this kind of taxpayers money.
R.Dias Thursday, 10 February 2011 11:57 AM
IT IS NOT HOW MANY TRIPS OR HOW MUCH HAS BEEN SPENT THAT WE SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT. IT IS HOW PRODUCTIVE ALL THOSE CALLS HAVE BEEN. EXCEPT FOR LATE HON LAKSHMAN KADIRAGAMAR REST ARE ALL HUMBUGS.
Amarapala Thursday, 10 February 2011 08:41 AM
If we spent this money for the development of the country then Sri Lanka would have been a developed country by now.
sltk2004 Thursday, 10 February 2011 06:06 AM
These are expenses that we need to do. These trips are required in order to develop the country.
drake Thursday, 10 February 2011 05:54 AM

when i see these comments i can imagine what kind of thinking is common among you Srilankans. it sad. very sad. everyone here only think about themselves. not the country.

Darwin Thursday, 10 February 2011 03:45 AM
Agree. These trip have no significance in our life due to the poor international relationship the government has with the rest of the world.
bernard Thursday, 10 February 2011 03:44 AM
What has SL gained after all these visits?
amedha Thursday, 10 February 2011 03:34 AM
given that when they travel abroad they pay in dollars. The expenditure incurred by minister pieris is very modest.
Kelby Thursday, 10 February 2011 03:10 AM
This called "Who cares attitude". Partly tax payers and rest begged money. This is one guy's expense. Just imagine how much MR would have spent to his London trip alone. People are floating in flood water. These guys are flying around in style.
Show Me The Money Thursday, 10 February 2011 02:46 AM
100 Houses could have been built for the flood victims with this money and this is only one guy's globe trotting bill add the others too and you could build 100 Hospitals ..." its only tax payers money " thats the attitude the Gov has
