8 hour water cut in Colombo/suburbs

The supply of water to Colombo and its suburbs would be interrupted from 12 noon to 8 p.m. tomorrow due to urgent maintenance work that was to take place at the pump house located in Kotte, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board announced.

The areas affected by the water cut would be Nugegoda, the stretch of road leading from Nugegoda Junction to Wijerama Junction, Pita Kotte, Etul Kotte, Mirihana, Udahamulla, Wijerama, Pagoda, Nawala, Madiwela, Thalapathpitiya, Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa and the Kesbewa Municipal area.

The Water Board said that it regretted the inconvenience caused to consumers and requested them to collect their requirement of water in advance. (Chaturanga Pradeep)

No power cuts they said but strange power failures of one to two hour duration takes place daily.Same with water-they warn us that water cuts are imminent if rains don't come, but no day goes by without stoppage of water for several hours due to urgent repairs, so they say.We know better, don't we?
