A notorious ‘daylight’ thief wanted in connection for over 20 daylight burglaries was arrested by the police during a raid in the Makandana area.

A senior police official said that the thief was responsible for breaking into homes during the day and after threatening the women and children who were at home, fled away with the household items and valuables.

The thief had struck in several areas including Kotagedara, Batakettara and Madapatha.

The police official said that as a result of the burglaries, people lived in constant fear of the armed criminal.

During inquiries police recovered two motorcycles, a bicycle, 15 cellular phones and household appliances stolen by the suspect. (Daily Mirror online)

He is not a 'top' thief. The TOP
THIE(F)VES are walking in dignity. The whole nation is in fear of them. I challenge the police to catch them and not to prostrate before them.

well said, but none will specifically say this in public. The day people stand against them only we can look forward to a better future.

Nothing to worry the culprit will be free. There is no law and order in Sri Lanka.

The entire law is in the hand of MR the King forever.

Well the MPs and cabinet ministers know other devious ways to carry out "daylight robberies" from the unsuspecting consumers. And they are never caught by the law enforcement agencies either.
