A group of police officers have filed a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition in Court over the promotion of three police officers to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) based on a cabinet decision.

In the petition filed at the Supreme Court 33 police Chief Inspectors (CI) claimed that the three police officers of lower ranks were promoted last month as ASPs based on a cabinet decision.

The Chief Inspectors cited the Cabinet, Police Chief, Defence Secretary and the Prime Minister were cited in the petition.  (Daily Mirror online)
