A woman passenger of a Colombo-Thiruvananthapuram flight was duped of a 14-sovereign gold chain by a co-passenger.

According to police, the woman, hailing from Tamil Nadu, was told by the co-passenger that she would have to pay customs duty for the gold chain she was wearing. He offered to smuggle the chain out of the airport and return it at the exit.

The woman, who waited at the exit area, could not find him, following which she lodged a police complaint.

The police said that they had identified the accused from the flight data and would arrest him soon. (Indian Express)
