A ‘Bad Weather Advisory’ was issued by the Dept. of Meteorology today stating that rain or thundershowers with heavy rain falls (above 100mm) at some places could be expected in the Northern, North Central, Eastern, Uva and Central provinces and over Hambanthota District.

Overcast skies with some showers can be expected in other areas in the island today and tomorrow, the Dept. of Meteorology told Daily Mirror online.

Further it was noted that a low pressure area was still affecting the weather over the island and that although it got better yesterday, more showers were expected in the coming two days.

The sea areas off the Eastern and Southern coasts will also be rough with occasional showers or thundershowers, this will affect fishing in the area, Dept. of Meteorology said. (Daily Mirror online)
