Defending champions Australia beat England by four runs in the final to win the Women's World Twenty20 in Colombo on Sunday.

On this occasion the better team won but congratulations to England and Charlotte Edwards for their efforts in this tournament and to Sri Lanka for their superb hosting and stageing of both the men's and womens events.
